CLAREMORE, Okla.. --- Missouri Southern State scored runs in each of the first three innings to race to a 7-0 lead en route to a 12-0 victory over Minnesota State in an elimination game of the NCAA Central Region Tournament.
The Lions used four runs in the first, one in the second and two in the third to set the scoring tone early.
The Maverick bats were held to just three hits – one from senior rightfielder
Cole Yearsley and two from sophomore shortstop
Jake Berkland.
Minnesota State's season ends with a 40-16 record. The season marked the 12th 40-win season in MSU's history, ten of which have come under head coach
Matt Magers.
