MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State Athletic Department wrapped up its fifth annual MavWeek Challenge over the weekend, raising over $184,000 to benefit Maverick student-athlete scholarships.
In all, 11 teams hit their goal for the week raising a grand total of $184,014, surpassing our goal of $170,000. This marks the fifth straight year that MSU has surpassed its fundraising goal, and the $184,014 is the second-largest amount raised during the MavWeek Challenge.
"This year's MavWeek Challenge is another tremendous example of what can be accomplished when our Maverick community rallies together to make this type of investment in our programs," said Director of Athletics,
Kevin Buisman.
"Surpassing our goal for the fifth consecutive year, and doing so behind the energy and commitment of our coaches and student-athletes is especially gratifying. The impact of these efforts on our student-athlete experience is significant, and we're especially thankful for
Scott Nelsen's leadership in driving this initiative forward and continuing to elevate it each year."
Since its inception in 2022, the MavWeek Challenge has raised over $774,000 to benefit student-athlete scholarships.
The MavWeek Challenge is a crowdfunding campaign that's ran in conjunction with Minnesota State's Annual Giving Office.
