MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's hockey team has been ranked 19th in the most recent editions of the USCHO Poll and the USA Hockey Poll.

MSU, which was idle last weekend, dropped one spot in the USCHO Preseason Poll and two spots in the USA Hockey Preseason Poll.

Denver continues to sit atop both polls, while the rest of the top-five including Michigan, Michigan State, North Dakota and Minnesota Duluth held steady as well.

Minnesota State is one of two CCHA teams ranked in both polls. Michigan Tech improved to 16th in the USCHO Poll and 12th in the USA Hockey Poll after sweeping Minnesota last weekend. Augustana and Bowling Green are each receiving votes in both polls.

Minnesota State opens its season at home on Oct. 9-10 as it hosts #7 Wisconsin at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center. Friday's puck drop is set for 7:07 p.m., while Saturday's puck drop is scheduled for 6:07 p.m.
