MANKATO, Minn. -- Lauren McAlpine has earned NSIC goalkeeper of the Week honors for her performance this past weekend. It is her second time winning the award this season (Sept. 8)

The Shoreview, Minn. native was perfect this weekend recording two shutouts, against Concordia-St. Paul and Winona State. She now has 11 shutouts on the season which ranks second in all of Division II. Against CSP she made six saves in the 4-0 win. She followed that up with another six save shutout in a 4-0 win against Winona State which included an outstanding diving save late in the match to preserve the shutout.

McAlpine has been the backbone to an elite Maverick defensive unit all season which has led MSU to a strong 11-1-1 start, including an 8-1-1 record in NSIC play.

The Mavericks will close out their regular season home schedule this weekend, when they take on MSU Moorhead on Friday at 3:00 p.m., and Minnesota Crookston on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
