Twelve Former Mavericks Invited to PWHL Training Camps

MANKATO, Minn. -- Twelve former Mavericks have been invited to compete in PWHL training camps this week. They include forward Kennedy Bobyck (San Jose), forward Brooke Bryant (San Jose), goaltender Abbey Levy (San Jose), defender Jessica Kondas (Toronto), forward Jamie Nelson (Toronto), goaltender Jessie McPherson (Toronto), forward Taylor Otremba (Ottawa), forward Madison Mashuga (Ottawa), forward Sydney Langseth (Las Vegas), defender Kianna Roeske (Montreal), defender Anna Wilgren (Seattle), and forward Claire Butorac (Minnesota). 

Bobyck (Regina, Saskatchewan) played in 164 games (all-time leader) for the Mavericks from 2019-24 with 24 goals, 49 assists for 73 points (15th all-time). During her fifth year she was awarded the Maverick Pride award and served as an alternate captain. 

Bryant (Linen, California) skated in 161 games for the Mavericks while recording 30 goals and 36 assists for 66 points. She won the PWHL Walter Cup with the Minnesota Frost in 2024. Across three seasons Bryant has played in 71 games for Minnesota and Seattle, tallying two goals and four assists. 

Levy (Congers, New York) was in the net for 56 games for the Mavericks between 2018 and 2020. During her time, she put up a .917 save percentage and a 2.58 goals against average. She has played in 13 games over the past three seasons for New York and Boston with a .906 save percentage and 2.97 goals against average. 

Kondas (Calgary, Alberta) played in 154 games for Minnesota State, ranking sixth in program history for points by a defender with 12 goals and 22 assists. She also ranks third all-time in blocks with 248 and was a four-time member of the WCHA All-Academic Team. In her time as a member of Toronto, she has skated in 15 games and scored her first career goal during her only game in 2024-25. 

Nelson (Andover, Minnesota) was a member of the Mavericks from 2020-25. During her time, she recorded 42 goals and 61 assists for 103 points (third all-time) across 124 games. She is the only member of Minnesota State who has earned WCHA rookie of the year accolades (2020-21). Her 20 goals in 2023-24 rank tied second most in a season in program history. Last season, Nelson skated for the University of Minnesota, appearing in 39 games and scoring 11 goals to go with a team-high 31 assists for 42 points.  

McPherson (Chatham, Ontario) played one season for the Mavericks in 2024-25. She earned Krampade All-American scholar while playing in 15 games, including nine starts. She posted a 3.06 goals against average and a .895 save percentage with a 3-5-1 record. Before becoming a member of MSU she played for Vermont for four seasons. 

Otremba (Lakeville, Minnesota) was selected in the sixth round (71st overall) during the 2026 PWHL Draft. Last season she served as team captain as the Mavericks set a program record in wins with 17. She appeared in 149 games (sixth all-time) for MSU, scoring 35 goals (T-10th) and 56 assists (third). During each of her four seasons she scored at least 20 points and was a three-time WCHA Scholar Athlete. 

Mashuga (Anoka, Minnesota) played in 154 games for Minnesota State (T-4th all-time) with 31 goals, 47 assists and 78 points. Her senior year she was named alternate captain. She was named WCHA All-Academic Team and WCHA Scholar-Athlete. 

Langseth (Eden Prairie, Minnesota) earned All-American Scholar, WCHA All-Academic and WCHA Scholar Athlete as a senior. She was named captain of the Mavericks. In her time at MSU, she appeared in 162 games (second all-time), scored 36 goals (eighth all-time) and had 54 assists for 90 points. Langseth sits eighth on the MSU all-time scoring chart. 

Roeske (Paynesville, Minnesota) played 149 games for MSU from 2022-26. Her 75 blocks last season are tied for seventh most in a season. She served as an alternate captain a year ago where she scored an overtime goal to send the Mavericks to their second ever WCHA Final Faceoff. Roeske was a three-time WCHA Scholar Athlete and four-time Krampade All-American Scholar during her time as a member of the Maverick blue line. 

Wilgren (Hudson, Wisconsin) played in 91 games for the Mavericks from 2018-2023. She collected 12 goals and 30 assists for 42 points. Wilgren played for the Montreal Victorie in 2024-25. She appeared in 30 games and accumulated three goals and six assists for nine points. In 2025-26 as a member of the Seattle Torrent, she skated in 30 games with three goals and seven assists. 

Butorac (Andover, Minnesota) played 153 games for the Mavericks from 2018-23 and scored 21 goals with 35 assists. She appeared in 21 games for the Minnesota Frost in 2024 and tallied one goal, two assists and three points, including 10 playoff games en route to the Walter Cup Championship. In 2024-25, she played 29 games for the Frost with six points and claimed another Walter Cup trophy. Overall Butorac has played 80 games in the PWHL, recording 12 total points with one goal.
