#13/14 Minnesota State Prepares for Bemidji State Series

MANKATO, Minn. – No. 13/14 Minnesota State (11-13-2, 5-13-2 WCHA) hits the ice this weekend for a two-game series against Bemidji State (5-18-3, 2-17-1 WCHA). Friday's puck drop is set for 6 p.m. at Sanford Center, followed by Saturday's matchup at 4 p.m. at Yanmar Arena in Grand Rapids as part of the US Hockey Hall of Fame Museum Women's Faceoff Classic. Both games will stream on the B1G+ Network.

Scouting Bemidji State

The Beavers come in with a 2-17-1 overall record, eighth in the WCHA. Sophomore Mogan Smith leads the team with 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists), while goaltender Kaitlin Groess posts a 4.18 GAA and .876 save percentage. Bemidji State faced No. 1 Wisconsin last weekend, falling 10-3 and 6-1.

Recap vs. Minnesota Duluth

Friday's game against No. 9 Minnesota Duluth ended scoreless through regulation and overtime, with Hailey Hansen recording her fifth shutout of the season. The Bulldogs earned the extra point in the shootout. Saturday, Minnesota State fell 3-0, with Eve Gascon backstopping Duluth's win. The Mavericks totaled 52 shots over the weekend, while Hansen made 55 saves out of 58 shots on goal.

Series History

Minnesota State holds a 47-49-15 record all-time against Bemidji State. The teams last met in October, with MSU winning the shootout after a 2-2 tie in the first matchup and taking the second game 2-0.

Minnesota State looks to bounce back this weekend and extend its winning tradition against the Beavers.
