SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --- #18 Minnesota State picked up a pair of dual victories Friday evening as the Mavericks bested Sioux Falls 262.5-108.5 and Southwest Minnesota State 240-137.
MSU now owns a 9-1 dual record on the season.
Freshman
Emily Spielman won a pair of events on the day, including the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.29 and the 300 IM with a time of 3:28.53. Spielman also finished second in the 100 IM event with a time of 1:01.63.
Freshman
Parker Schmeiding added three second-place finishes also as she posted a time of 26.75 in the 50 butterfly event, a time of 59.54 in the 100 butterfly event and a time of 1:37.01 in the 150 butterfly event.
Sophomore
Kelley Ryan took second in the 50 backstroke (27.87) and the 150 backstroke (1:35.15), while freshman
Jessica Paulsen finished second in both the 50 breaststroke (31.32) and 100 breaststroke (1:09.05) events also.
In the 3-meter diving event sophomore
Kaitlyn Hettiararchchy set the standard as she posted a score of 206.30, while her teammate sophomore
Chloe Dobie followed in second with a score of 192.30. Dobie would lead the way in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 212.10, with Hettiararchchy following in second with a score of 189.30.
Minnesota State returns to action on Jan. 31 as it hosts MSU Moorhead at Highland Pool. The dual is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
