SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Minnesota State men's cross country placed third at the Augie Twilight to kick off the 2025 cross country season late Friday night at Yankton Trail Park. The Mavericks scored 108, behind only South Dakota State (15) and Augustana (63). South Dakota State took every finishing spot in the top ten. Then MSU freshman Luis Pfister was 13th with a time of 19:19.7 in the four mile event.

The Mavericks also improved their mark from ninth place at the same race last season. Men's cross country continues its season at the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday, September 19 at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn.

Other top finishers for the Mavericks included Jacob Bennett (32nd), Jackson Kendall (33rd), Grant Mayers (41st), Luke Scholtes (43rd), Dominic Ripperda (46th), Erek Ross (47th), Wallace Kigen (48th), Audi Thom (56th), Biruk Killeen (63rd), and Maquanet Collins (65th).
