NEW ORLEANS – Minnesota State men's cross country and women's cross country were named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams this week. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period and compile a team score at their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
Minnesota State women's cross country held a team grade point average of 3.60 under head coach
Jen Blue. Men's cross country held a team grade point average of 3.64 under head coach
Ben Held.
In addition, six individuals were named NCAA Division II cross country all-academic by USTFCCCA. They included
Jack Kendall (Finance),
Tara Hertling (Exercise Science),
Alexi MacDonald (Nursing),
Madison Matzek (Elementary Education),
Amanda Overgaauw (Earth Science) and
Ashley Overgaauw (Sport Management).
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
