WACO, Texas - Minnesota State football was ranked No. 14 in Monday's AFCA Division II Coaches Poll. The Mavericks (2-1, 1-1 NSIC) fell 17-14 at No. 24 Minnesota Duluth on Saturday. The Bulldogs improved to No. 16 in the rankings this week.
Ferris State (3-0, 31 first place votes) retained the top position in Division II after holding off a threat from Tiffin 41-34 in week three. Harding (2-0), West Florida (3-0), Slippery Rock (2-0) and Kutztown (2-0) rounded out the top-five.
The Mavericks are on the road this week to play Jamestown (0-2) on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 1p.m. at Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium. It is the first conference matchup between the two schools in program history. MSU football was ranked No. 7 in last week's AFCA poll.
