FARGO, N.D. – Former Minnesota State right-handed pitcher
Hunter Day (Richfield, Minn.) made his professional debut on Saturday when he tossed 1.0 inning of scoreless baseball in a win over the Chicago Dogs. Day allowed one hit and completed the ninth inning for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.

The RedHawks play in the American Association of Professional Baseball. Day graduated in the Spring of 2025 after making 16 appearances for the Mavericks, including five starts in his finals collegiate campaign. He held a 3-0 record and a 3.77 earned run average with 43.0 innings pitched and 38 strikeouts.

Day joined fellow Maverick alumnus
Aidan Byrne (Eagan, Minn.) on the squad. The shortstop signed with Fargo-Moorhead on May 30 and is hitting .263 in 70 games this season, including five doubles and one triple.

Day earned the start for the Mavericks in the NCAA Central Region Championship game vs. Pittsburg State on May 18 and helped Minnesota State to a 51-8 overall record in the spring. He played for Missouri State prior to joining the Mavericks.
