MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State Director of Athletics Kevin Buisman announced Morgan Goedken has been promoted to the title of Associate Athletic Director of Compliance and Student Engagement. She will also serve as Senior Woman Administrator.

The senior woman administrator is the highest-ranking female in each NCAA athletics department or conference office and the purpose of the designation is to promote meaningful representation of women in the leadership and management of college sports.

"We are very excited to have Morgan take on these new responsibilities," said Kevin Buisman, Director of Athletics. "This will be an important step for Morgan as she transitions from coaching to a full-time administrative role. She is a very talented person with an exceptional level of drive and determination that will serve her well in this position and her advocacy will be a tremendous benefit for our coaches and student-athletes."

Goedken began as an operations and compliance intern at Minnesota State in 2019 while enrolled as a graduate student. She has since served as Compliance Coordinator and Academic Advisor in athletic administration. Since 2021, Goedken has also been an Assistant Coach for Maverick softball, starting as a Student Assistant Coach in 2020. She held the role of Teaching Assistant from 2019-21, where she coordinated 12 online coaching and officiating courses with students and professors.

In her new role, Goedken will be responsible for the development, implementation and administration of the athletic department compliance program. She will also be tasked with academic support and be a student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) liaison.

"I would like to thank Director of Athletics Kevin Buisman and President Inch for the opportunity to support Maverick Athletics in this new role," Goedken said. "I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Lori Meyer and Shane Drahota for their mentorship and support over the past five years. Providing student-athletes with a great experience has always been my passion, and I look forward to helping MSU continue to 'Build Champions' through our athletic programming for years to come."

Goedken received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Wartburg College in 2019, where she was a four-year letterwinner as a softball student-athlete and two-time NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete. She earned a Master of Arts in Sport Management from MSU in 2021 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Accounting.

Prior to her time with the Mavericks, Goedken served as an assistant coach at Regina High School in Iowa City, Iowa, from 2016-2019 and as interim head coach for the 2020 season. She helped lead Regina to three state tournament appearances, which included a Class 2A state title in 2017 and two Class 2A state runner-up finishes in 2016 and 2018.
