MANKATO, Minn. --- Minnesota State defensive coordinator Todd Taylor has been selected to participate in the Minnesota Vikings Diversity Coaching Summit this week.

"I'm excited to have been selected to participate in the Minnesota Vikings Coaching Summit," Taylor said. From the ownership to the front office, coaches and staff members, there is a winning culture being established. I can't wait to bring back knowledge that offers some additional tools to the players here at Minnesota State."

The purpose of the coaching summit is to expand opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds to gain experience and potentially be hired for coaching positions.  The program was launched back in 2022 with the arrival of assistant head coach Mike Pettine back in 2022 and gives the participants a chance to show how they approach their coaching duties, while also building familiarity with other participants and the Vikings coaching staff.

Minnesota State finished its 2024 season with an 11-4 record as it advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament. The Mavericks open their 2025 season at home on Thursday, Aug. 28, as they take on the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Blakeslee Stadium.
