BURNSVILLE, Minn. - Minnesota State starting pitcher Brianne Stone was named the NSIC's Pitcher of the Week for her excellent performance in week four of the 2025 conference regular season. It is the first time she has earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
In 22 innings and three starts, Stone earned three complete game victories in week four. She led the Mavericks with 15 strikeouts and maintained a 1.59 ERA in her three appearances in the circle.Â
The Valencia, Calif. native allowed just one run in her seven innings against Winona State, the best hitting team in the conference. In that game, Stone struck out four as the Mavericks won 4-1 in game two to split with the Warriors.
Stone pitched a complete eight innings against Minnesota Duluth to follow up her performance in Winona. She earned her 10th win of the season in extra innings and struck out five batters in the process.Â
The redshirt senior closed week four with a gem, a complete game shutout of the St. Cloud State Huskies at home. Stone struck out six batters, including all three outs of the seventh inning, to secure a 6-0 win for Minnesota State.Â
Stone leads the Mavericks with an 11-4 record, a 1.43 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP and 63 strikeouts in 88.1 innings pitched in 2025.
Stone and the Minnesota State softball team (34-14, 18-4 NSIC) currently sit in second place in the NSIC, one game behind Augustana, who is 19-3 in conference play. The Mavericks will travel south for a lone double header against Wayne State (25-18, 10-9 NSIC) this Friday, April 18. Game one will begin at noon and game two is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start.
