DULUTH, Minn. — Minnesota State opened Saturday's contest strong, striking first, but No. 4 Minnesota Duluth rallied in the third period to take a 3-1 win at AMSOIL Arena.

The Mavericks (5-3-0, 1-3-0 WCHA) got on the board early when Taylor Otremba buried her second goal of the season at the 6:58 mark of the first period. Kamryn Van Batavia and Lauren Zawoyski picked up assists, giving MSU a 1-0 lead that held through the opening frame.
