MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State Mavericks (10-15-1, 4-15-1 WCHA) will travel to Bemidji State (4-22-1, 2-18 WCHA) this weekend for a two-game road series. Friday's game is set for 3:02 p.m., while Saturday's game will begin at 2:02 p.m. Central Time.
Last Time Out:
The Mavericks were on the road last weekend, facing Ohio State in Columbus. MSU fell to the Buckeyes 5-2 on Friday and 4-1 on Saturday.
In Friday's game, the Mavericks struck first with a goal from
Taylor Otremba, while
JuliAnna Gazdik also found the back of the net.
On Saturday,
Claire Vekich provided the lone goal for MSU. Goaltender
Jessie McPherson delivered a strong performance, posting a .921 save percentage with 35 saves.
Minnesota State is sixth in the WCHA with 16 points with eight regular season games remaining.
Scouting the Beavers:
Bemidji State faced No. 3 Minnesota last weekend, falling 4-1 on Friday and 3-1 on Saturday.
Offensively, Hailey Armstrong leads the Beavers with eight goals and six assists for a total of 14 points.
Between the pipes, Kaitlin Groess has posted a .902 save percentage and a 3.34 goals-against average.
The Beavers are currently eighth in the WCHA standings with six points.
The last time the Mavericks and Beavers met, MSU secured a 5-3 home victory.
