#7 Minnesota State finishes regular season conference play with a sweep against Minnesota Crookston

CROOKSTON, Minn – No. 7 Minnesota State (12-1-5, 11-0-3 NSIC) capped off their regular season conference play in style, sweeping Minnesota Crookston (1-14-2, 1-11-1 NSIC) with a 4-0 victory.

The Mavericks set the tone early, with Addison Clarey striking first in the 9th minute, netting her fifth goal of the season off an assist from Avery Korsching. Clarey wasn't done, scoring again just three minutes later with help from Kelsey Heller, who notched her second assist of the season.

In the 35th minute, Amara Smith joined the action, scoring off a well-coordinated setup from Mallie Mathis and Jayden Chee. Just before halftime, Reese Hilsenbeck capitalized on a final push, slotting one past the Golden Eagles' goalie to bring the score to 4-0 heading into the break.

The Golden Eagles kept the Mavericks from tallying up another goal in the second half.

"To go undefeated in this league is a tremendous accomplishment. Great focus and energy from our team this weekend… a fantastic way to finish the regular season strong." Stated head coach Brian Bahl.

As the #1 seed in the NSIC, MSU will host a first-round match in the NSIC Tournament on Monday, Nov. 11. Its opponent and start time are still to be determined.
