Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State (1-0-0) opened the year with a bang seeing eight different Mavericks' register a point in its 7-0 blowout against Oklahoma Baptist (0-1-0). The Mavericks jumped on the Bison in the first half registering four goals in less than nine minutes to put the Bison on the ropes early.
Senior
Allie Williams led the Mavericks' offensive charge tying her career point total with six on the day. Williams notched her first goal in the 11th minute after receiving a stretch pass from fellow senior
Libby Spangler which led to her first career assist.
Sophomore
Avery Korsching registered her first career goal in the 14th minute after receiving a perfect pass from sophomore
Addison Clarey. Clarey's assist was also her first assist as a Maverick.
Two minutes later, sophomore
Anna Van Wyngarden split the OBU defenders finding herself one-on-one with Bison goaltender
Mia Pendleton. Van Wyngarden was denied with her initial attempt only to cash in on a rare rebound to extend Minnesota State's lead by three.
Addison Clarey found herself open in the 18th minute on a defensive OBU miscue and capitalized on her opportunity for her fourth career goal. The Rochester, Minn. native registered a career-high three-point day.
The Maverick kept on the gas in the second half with goals from Williams and Korsching. This was
Allie Williams's third career multi-goal performance in the purple and gold.

Jade Jackson registered her first career goal off a fantastic tic-tac-toe pass from freshman
Anna Stromberg and sophomore
Maria Zanotti, both collecting their first collegiate points.
