Mankato, Minn. -- Minnesota State (38-14, 25-8 NSIC) ousted top seed Augustana (42-18, 28-7 NSIC) from the NSIC Tournament by a final of 6-1 advancing to the NSIC Championship.
The Mavericks wasted no time jumping Augustana in the top of the first. Freshman

The Mavericks would tack on a combined four runs in the sixth and seventh innings off the bat of junior
Ryan Wickman. The Mavericks' center fielder finished the day going 2-4 with two home runs and four RBIs to seal the Mavericks' fate, toppling Augustana by a score of 6-1.
Junior
Taisei Yahiro (6-0) would earn the win by going seven and one-third while only allowing one run on two hits.
Augustana's
Jack Sutton (0-1) was tagged with the loss going two-thirds of an inning surrendering two runs on two hits.
The Mavericks will rematch the St. Cloud Huskies at 10:30 a.m. in the NSIC Championship tomorrow on BNC Field. The Mavericks need to beat the Huskies twice to secure the title.
