Mankato, Minn. -- Minnesota State (32-16, 22-8 NSIC) dropped it series against Minnesota Crookston (30-13, 20-8 NSIC).
Due to inclement weather, all game during the series were played on Sunday. The Mavericks dropped the first game of the series by a final of 7-6.
Sophomore
Aidan Byrne and junior
Jackson Hauge led the Mavericks offense in game one with both hitting home runs giving the Mavericks a 6-5 lead heading into the final frame.
UMC's offense rallied in the bottom of the seventh to steal the game from the Mavericks by a final of 7-6.
Senior
Dylan Gotto (7-2) was tagged with the loss going four and two-thirds innings while surrendering four runs on six hits.
Josh Dykhoff (7-4) got the win in game one going five innings allowing five runs on eight hits.
In game two, junior
Mikey Gottschalk gave the Mavericks the early 5-1 lead for the Mavericks with his second home run on the year.
Both teams managed crooked numbers through the game. Junior
Mikey Gottschalk led the Mavericks offense with six RBIs setting up a 10-9 Mavericks lead heading into the final frame.
The Mavericks once again surrender a walk off single settling for a 12-10 final in game two.
Senior
Jack Zigan (1-2) took the loss going one inning while surrendering four runs on four hits.
Connor Richardson (3-3) got the win going one inning allowing two runs on three hits.
The Mavericks owned game three scoring in every inning but the sixth. Sophomore

Nick Baker combined for three RBIs each salvaging the series with a 9-4 Mavericks victory.
Sophomore
Spencer Wright (2-0) got the win going three and two-two thirds while surrendering two runs on two hits and compiled nine strikeouts.
Brody Sorenson (4-2) was tagged with the loss going two innings allowing five runs on four hits.
The Mavericks are back in action Tuesday as they take on Wayne State in a midweek doubleheader stating at 1:30 p.m.
