Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State junior defenseman
Jake Livingstone was named the
CCHA Defenseman of the Year the league announced today. This marks the second straight season that Livingstone has earned the award.
A native of Creston, B.C., Livingstone played in all 26 league games, finishing with five goals and 22 assists in conference action for a total of 61 points. Two of Livingstone's goals in the league were game winning goals, and he finished the conference circuit with 28 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating. Livingston was named the league's
Defenseman of the Week four times this year (Oct. 10, Oct. 31, ,Jan. 9 and March 13) and was also the league's
Defenseman of the Month during the month of October.
Earlier this week, Livingstone was named a
First-Team All-CCHA selection.
Minnesota State (24-12-1) hosts Northern Michigan Saturday at 6:07 p.m., for the CCHA Tournament Championship.
