Box Score Mankato, Minn.  –  Minnesota State and seventh-ranked Minnesota Duluth skated to a 0-0 tie Saturday afternoon at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.
 
The Bulldogs claimed the extra point by virtue of Maggie Flaherty's goal in the shootout. 
 
The game marked the first scoreless tie for the Mavericks since it skated to a 0-0 tie at Bemidji State on Oct. 27, 2018.
 
The Mavericks thought they had won the game with 34 seconds remaining in overtime when junior Sydney Langseth found the back of the net, however, after a lengthy review, the call on the ice of a good goal was overturned due to goaltender interference. 
 
The two teams combined for 52 shots on the day, with Maverick senior backstop Alexa Berg turning away all 32 of her opportunities, while UMD goaltender Emma Soderberg stopped 20 shots.
 
Minnesota State (13-16-1, 7-16-1) wraps up the home portion of its 2022-23 schedule next weekend as it entertains Bemidji State.  Friday's game is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
