Minnesota State kept up the pressure, outshooting the Gophers 22-20 through two periods of play. The Gophers would find their footing in the final period lighting the lamp twice on 14 shots.
Freshman
Hailey Hansen stopped 16 of 17 shots in 35 minutes of play. After being lifted with an injury, junior
Suzette Faucher took over the helm and stopped 14 of 16.
At the end of the night, special teams were the difference," stated head coach
John Harrington. " Minnesota went 2-2 in power play chances while we weren't able to generate the right opportunities going 0-5."
The Mavericks are back in action tomorrow when they rematch #4 Minnesota at Mayo Clinic HSEC at 4 p.m.
