BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State senior
Jacob Daulton has received NSIC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts at Bemidji State last weekend.
A linebacker from Hudson, Wis., Daulton led the Maverick defense with 10 tackles, to go along with one tackle for a loss and a sack. He also intercepted a BSU pass in the end zone for a touchback early in the third quarter. The Mavericks then scored a touchdown on their first play after the interception.
This is the first time that Daulton has been named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week. The last Maverick to receive the honor was
Alijah McGhee who claimed it after MSU's week one win over Bemidji State (37-34) back in the 2022 season.
Minnesota State returns to Blakeslee Stadium for its annual Homecoming game this Saturday as it takes on MSU Moorhead. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
