St. Charles, Mo. .--- Minnesota State continued to dominate non-conference play as it handed LWU an 8-0 defeat Friday evening, improving to 10-11-0 on the season.  The win was the third straight for the Mavericks.

Sophomore Shelbi Guttormson got the Mavericks rolling just 1:37 into the opening period as she ripped a shot by a surprised Lindenwood goaltender.

Minnesota State added two more goals late in the first period as senior Sydney Shearen and freshman Kianna Roeske each recorded their second goals of the season, pushing MSU to a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Minnesota State added four more goals in the second period as freshman Taylor Otremba scored her first of two goals on the evening, 69 seconds into the frame. Junior Sydney Langseth added a goal just four seconds later.  Junior Madison Mashuga and Senior Claire Butorac each added goals in the second period.  Otremba then added her second goal of the night at 15:59 of the third to round out the scoring.

Otremba added three assists to go with her pair of goals to finish with a team-high five points.  Mashuga added three assists as well to go with her one goal.

Junior goaltender Lauren Barbro notched her second shutout of the season as she stopped all 37 saves she faced.

The Mavericks are back in action tomorrow as they look for their second consecutive sweep against non-conference opponents.  Game time is set for 2 p.m.
