Mankato, Minn. --- 19th ranked Minnesota state handled the MSSU Lions Friday night at Hal Bodon Field en route to a 3-1 victory.

It only took freshman forward, Addison Clarey 20 minutes to find the back of the net for her first career MSU goal and get the night started for the Mavericks. On the Clarey goal, Byrnn Desens gets her 24th assist as a Maverick putting her ahead of Jenny Hoerter (2014-2017) for 9th in all-time assists for Minnesota State.

Just over two minutes after MSU's goal, Lion's sophomore Ella Durocher, catches the Mavericks flat-footed to even the score at 1.

In the dying minutes of the first half, sophomore Maille Mathis, delivers a beautiful goal over the head of goalkeeper Riley Laver to give the Mavericks the lead heading into the half.

By the start of the second half, both teams defensively locked down and scoring came to a standstill. It wasn't until Brynn Desens in the 79th minutes sent a shot over the hands of Missouri Southern's goalkeeper to get her first goal of the season.

The Mavericks are back in action Sunday against Central Oklahoma as they look to stay perfect this weekend in Joplin, Missouri.
