BISMARCK, N.D. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team started its road trip to Bismarck on the right foot Saturday afternoon as the Mavericks bested the University of Mary Marauders 5-2.
With the win, MSU improves to 12-9 on the season, including a 5-3 NSIC record. With the loss, UMary drops to 7-5, including a 6-2 conference record.
The Marauders began the day winning two of the three doubles matches to secure the first point of the dual. The duo of junior
Tristen Bryant-Otake and freshman
Avery Stilwell bested Chloe Chong and Ilona Freitag 6-2 in the No. 1 doubles match, but the Marauders were able to come away with wins in the other two.
The Mavericks then rallied in the singles matches, winning five of them, to claim the 5-2 dual victory. Bryant-Otake bested Chong 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in the No. 1 singles match, while freshman
Elizabeth Felderman defeated Doaa Farouk Mohamed 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 3 singles match.

Hana Minisy won in three sets (4-6, 6-3, 6-0) against Emily Needham in the No. 4 singles match, while freshman
Taylor Julsrud topped Heidi Jacobson 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 5 singles match. Freshman
Brynn Psooy defeated Callie McDonald 6-0, 7-5 in the No. 6 singles match also.
Minnesota State wraps up its weekend on Sunday as it takes on MSU Moorhead in Bismarck, N.D. The dual is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
