Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State Athletic Department has launched the MavWeek Challenge this week, a week-long fundraising initiative which benefits all 20 Maverick athletic programs.

Over the course of the next week, fans, alumni and supporters of Maverick Athletics can donate to their favorite program as we raise funds for each team's scholarship fund.

"The MavWeek Challenge offers a unique new way for our supporters to donate to Maverick Athletics," said Scott Nelsen, Assistant Director of Athletics. "Whether it is a gift of $5 or a gift of $500, all funds you donate, will go directly toward scholarship support of the sport of your choosing."

We had an unprecedented run of success during the winter sports championship season that has fueled a wave of momentum, interest and enthusiasm for our programs. " said Director of Athletics, Kevin Buisman. "Scholarships are the lifeblood that makes the competitive engine run, and I hope our fans and alumni will take this opportunity to be generous in helping us find a way to sustain this current level of high achievement far into the future."

The MavWeek Challenge runs from now through April 24.
