ST. JOSEPH, Mo. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team could not solve Missouri Western on the road Wednesday as the Mavericks fell to the Griffons 6-1
With the loss, MSU falls to 11-6 on the season, while MWSU improves to 6-0.
The Griffons picked up the first point of the dual as they won all three of the doubles matches. The team of junior
Tristen Bryant-Otake and freshman
Avery Stilwell put forth the best effort in the No. 1 doubles match, but they fell to Anya Chavez and Isabella MacGibbon 7-6 (7-4).
Missouri Western then went on to win five of the six singles matches to claim the 6-1 win. Bryant-Otake got the lone win for the Mavericks in the No. 1 singles match as she defeated Chavez 6-3, 6-4.
Minnesota State continues its road trip this Thursday as it takes on Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo. The dual is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
