ROCHESTER, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team finish first in the quad meet with 815.5 points.

St. Cloud State finished in second with 748 points, with Truman State following in third with 464.5 points. UW-La Crosse recorded 364 points also.

Sophomore Abby Gronholz won the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.59, while Alexandra Gorecki took first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:10.53.

Freshman Megan Schultz won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:28.55, while senior Nicole Beckman finished first in the 100 butterfly event with a time of 58.93. Freshman Claudia Schwartz followed Beckman in second with a time of 59.83 also.

The Mavericks also won the 200 medley relay event with a time of 1:49.91 and the 200 freestyle relay event with a time of 1:38.82

Freshman Lauren Fisher turned in a second place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:58.71), while sophomore Maija Carriveau took second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.81.

Freshman Jenna Elizarraras took second place in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 244.2, while senior Ayla Taylor finished second in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 238.75.

Minnesota State continues its season on Saturday, October 22, as it takes on both Concordia-St. Paul and Southwest Minnesota State. The duals are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
