ST. PAUL, Minn. --- Minnesota State wrapped up competition with the NSIC North Division Saturday afternoon on the road as they bested the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears 25-15.
With the win, MSU improves to 4-1 on the season. With the loss, CSP drops to 0-5.
The Mavericks got the first score of the game with 6:33 remaining in the second quarter to go up 7-0. Freshman
Camden Dean connected with sophomore
Gabe Hagen on a seven-yard touchdown pass to cap off an 82-yard drive.
The 7-0 score would hold as both teams went into the locker room for halftime. Junior
Trey Vaval blocked a pair of CSP field goal attempts in the first half to keep the Golden Bears off the scoreboard.
CSP tied the score at 7-7 as Jaire Moore rushed into the end zone from 32 yards out on the Golden Bears opening drive of the third quarter. The Mavericks would get the next three scores in the game, including a five-yard touchdown pass from Dean to freshman
Jake Cicero with 2:03 to go in the quarter. MSU's converted on the two point conversion attempt to take a 15-7 lead.
The Mavericks would add 10 more points in the fourth quarter to go up 25-7. Sophomore
Damian Chowaniec made a 41-yard field goal, before Dean capped off an eight-play drive with a two-yard touchdown run with 6:48 to go in the game.
CSP managed to reach the end zone late in the fourth quarter as Connor Cordts connected with Jaylin Richardson on a three-yard touchdown pass, but they would not get any close as the Mavericks closed out the 25-15 win.
Dean finished his day with 100 passing yards and two touchdowns, to go along with 63 rushing yards and a touchdown. Senior Eric
Grant caught three passes for 67 yards also.

Minnesota State continues its season on the road on Saturday, October 8, as it takes on the Wayne State Wildcats. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
