Louisville, Ky. --- The Minnesota State softball team was ranked 11th in the 2022 National FastPitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Preseason Poll.

The Mavericks finished the 2021 campaign with a 40-10 overall record (23-5 NSIC) en-route to a NSIC conference tournament championship and NCAA Central Regional championship birth. Minnesota State picked up 230 total points in the first poll. 

Augustana was the only other NSIC school to appear in the poll at No. 2. The Vikings received 371 total points and five first-place votes.

The Mavericks open regular season play against Maryville University as they host the Minnesota State DII Softball Classic. First-pitch is slated for 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4. Minnesota States opens NSIC competition on Tuesday, Mar. 29 at The Diamond in Mankato, Minn., as they host Concordia-St. Paul in a doubleheader with first-pitches set for 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., respectively.
