IRVING, Texas --- Five Minnesota State have been named to the National Football Foundation Honor Society for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.
Lukas Burrington,
Cade Johnson,
Kaden Lilienthal,
Cole Schroedermeier and
Justin Taormina were all named to the for the Mavericks.
A total of 910 student-athletes from 255 schools received the honor. To be eligible, student-athletes must have completed their final year of playing eligibility in fall 2020 or Spring 2021. Graduated players, who have remaining eligibility but will not return to collegiate play (e.g. declared for NFL Draft or retired from football), were also eligible.
Players also must maintain at least a 3.2 GPA, meet all NCAA/NAIA-mandated progress towards degree requirement and be a starter or significant contributor.
Minnesota State had the fifth-most Division II student-athletes named to the NFF Honor Society. Stonehill College led Division II with eight.
