SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 sweep on the road Saturday evening against Sioux Falls.
MSU now owns an overall and NSIC record of 1-4, while USF improves to 3-2, including a 3-1 NSIC record.
The dual began with USF winning all three of the doubles matches to secure the first point of the dual. Freshmen
Abigail Clayton and
Sarah Johansen put forth the best effort in the No. 3 doubles match but they fell to Lexi Miller and Peyton Forney by the score of 6-3.
The Cougars then won all six of the singles matches in straight sets to complete the sweep. In the No. 5 singles match, Clayton fell to Rachel Klatt by the scores of 6-4, 6-1, while junior
Tyanna Washa suffered a 6-1, 6-1 loss to Megan Quandt in the No. 1 singles match.
Minnesota State finishes its weekend on the road this Sunday as it takes on Augustana. The dual is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
