Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's Track and Field program finished first in the President Davenport Classic with 95 points while Minnesota Duluth finished second with 53 and Winona State finished with 14 team points.
In the 60m dash,
Shaheed Hickman finished first with a time of 6.90 after posting a time of 6.87 in the preliminaries.
Josh Phelps took first place in the 200m dash with a time of 22.35 and teammate
Nicholas Sharma finished second with a time of 22.36,
In the 600m run,
Drew Lewison finished first with a time of 1:23.56.
Kornelius Klah, after being named NSIC track athlete of the week last week, finished first in the 60m hurdlers with a time of 8.05 which is a provisional qualifier but does not improve on his mark of 7.97.
The 4x400m relay team of
Carter Nesvold,
Phelps,
Klah and
Max DePrenger finished first with a time of 3:21.02.
Deveyonn Brown finished first in the high jump with a top clear of 2.03m (6'8") while
Kyle Johnson and
Lindsey Thomas tied for first in the pole vault with a mark of 4.64m (15'2.75").
In the shot put,
Bedale Naba finished first with a top throw of 16.27m (53'4.5") while
Nicholas Hudson finished first in the weight throw with a toss of 19.55m (64'1.75") which currently ranks as the 10
th best in the nation and is a provisional qualifier.
Minnesota State returns to action next Friday and Saturday as it hosts the NSIC Indoor Championships at Myers Field House. In accordance with NSIC regulations regarding the health and safety of student athletes, coaches, officials and fans, there will be no fans in attendance for the event however live results and video streams will be available to watch the event.
