Huntsville, Ala. --- #3 Minnesota State found itself trailing by a goal after the opening period, but used three second-period markers to take control of the game, eventually prevailing by a 4-1 margin over Alabama Huntsville in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game played in Huntsville Thursday.

Dallas Gerads in staying perfect in conference play for the season in upping their record to 9-0-0 in WCHA action.
Minnesota State outshot the host Chargers 10-3 in the opening frame, but it was a goal by Quinn Green off of a three-on-two odd-man rush that had UAH entering the locker room after the first 20 minutes leading 1-0.
The Mavericks would not be denied in the second period, however, with Carroll collecting his second goal of the season with the Mavericks on the power play at 4:31 to even the score and, then, less than a minute later senior forward

Cade Borchardt with an offensive zone cross-ice pass and Borchardt made no mistake with his one-timer finding the back of the net at 12:42 and after two periods of play, the Mavericks owned a 3-1 advantage.
A Gerads power play goal at 16:20 of the final frame closed out the scoring in the game.
Junior netminder
Dryden McKay turned aside nine shots in the win and now stands 12-1-0 for the year.
The Mavericks stand 12-2-1 overall with tonight's win. UAH goes to 2-8-1 overall, 2-3-0 WCHA.
The two teams square-off again tomorrow at Von Braun Center with a 7:07 p.m. face-off scheduled.
