MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's basketball team (11-7, 8-6 NSIC) will return to the road for a pair of conference games this weekend against the MSU Moorhead Dragons and the Northern State Wolves.  Friday, the Mavericks take on the Dragons In Moorhead, Minn., with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.  Saturday, MSU will face-off with the Wolves with the game slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.
 
Mavericks at a Glance: Minnesota State (11-7, 6-6 NSIC), enters the week with an 11-7 record after picking up a pair of wins last weekend against Wayne State and Augustana.

Stat Pack: As a team, Minnesota State is averaging 75.4 points per game in comparison to its opponents' 70.6. Additionally, the Mavericks average 42.8 rebounds per game and dish out 13.6 assists per game while stealing the ball 12.2 times per game.

Impact Mavericks: Senior guard Kirstin Klitzke is the leading scorer for the Mavericks, averaging 10.2 points per game as well as averaging 3.0 rebounds per game.  Junior forward Tayla Stuttley the team's second leading scorer, averaging 9.5 points per game as well as a team leading 2.4 assists per game.  Sophomore center Kristi Fett is the leading rebounder for the Mavericks, averaging 6.4 boards per game while adding 8.9 points per game. 

Youth Movement: Several underclassmen are making an early impact for the Mavericks this season. Center Kristi Fett is averaging 8.9 points per game while also averaging 6.4 rebounds a game.  Freshman guard Shea Fuller is averaging 5.3 points per game this season.  Freshman guard Joey Batt is averaging 8.1 points per game to go along with 1.5 steals per contest.

Bench Squad: The bench players for the Mavericks have outscored their opponents 647-325 to date this season.

Scouting MSU Moorhead:  Minnesota State University Moorhead is located in Moorhead, Minn., and is currently 14-7 (9-5 NSIC) on the season. The Dragons are members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).  MSU Moorhead is led by head coach Karla Nelson who is in her 20th season as the leader of the program.  

As a team this season, the Dragons net 71.2 points per game in comparison to their opponents' 57.7. MSU Moorhead also snatches 44.4 rebounds and dishes out 13.7 assists per contest. 

The Dragons are led by senior forward Megan Hintz who averages 15.3 points per game and a team leading 7.8 rebounds per game. Sophomore center Peyton Boom is the second leading scorer for the Dragons, averaging 9.7 points per game to go along with 5.5 rebounds per contest.

Friday's game will mark the 44th all-time meeting between these two programs, the most recent of which was a 76-70 win for the Mavericks last season. 

Scouting Northern State:  Northern State is located in Aberdeen, S.D., and is currently 11-9 (7-7 NSIC) on the season. The Wolves are members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).  Northern State is led by head coach Paula Krueger who is in her second season as the leader of the program.  

As a team this season, the Wolves net 65.0 points per game in comparison to their opponents' 65.1. Northern State also snatches 34.9 rebounds and dishes out 12.9 assists per contest. 

The Wolves are led by sophomore forward Lexi Wadsworth, who is averaging 14.9 points per game as well as 5.2 boards per game. Senior guard Brianna Kusler is the team leader in rebounds per game, averaging 8.0 to go along with 12.7 points per contest.

Saturday's game will mark the 22nd all-time meeting between these two programs, the most recent of which was an 54-40 win for the Mavericks last season. 

Looking Ahead: Next weekend, Minnesota State will return home for a pair of games against Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State.  Friday night, the Mavericks will host the Golden Eagles with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.  Saturday, MSU will take on the Beavers with tip-off scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
