Rochester, Minn. --- Minnesota State saw its NSIC Softball Tournament run come to an end Saturday, with a 4-0 loss to the Winona State Warriors. The Mavericks will await the NCAA Regional Tournament announcement, which will me made Monday at 9:00 a.m. at NCAA.com, to determine if the team will see it's season continue.
Lexi Schoper (11-4) started the game for Minnesota State and took the loss while pitching six innings and allowing four runs, only one of them earned, on fve hits. Liz Pautz (19-2) started the game for the Warriors and earned the win pitching all seven innings and allowing four hits.
Offense proved difficult to come by, but the Warriors strung together baserunners and were able to get a pair of runs across on an error, and later an RBI single. In the third inning the Warriors were able to ad a third run on a single to center field, and in the sixth, they added another on a sacrifice fly, to take the decisive 4-0.
Amber Kral finished the day 2-3 from the plate while
Kayla Moky and
Torey Richards each recorded hits.
Minnesota State will await the announcement of the NCAA Regional brackets which will be made Monday morning at 9:00 a.m., at NCAA.com, to determine if the team did enough this weekend to continue post-season play.
