Burnsville, Minn. --- A pair of Minnesota State volleyball players in
Morgan Olson and
Mara Quam, have been named All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, as announced by conference officials today.
Olson, a senior from Annandale, Minn., was named All-NSIC First Team. Olson leads the Mavericks in kills with 392 on the season, which ranks second in the NSIC, and is third on the team with 57 blocks. She is averaging a conference-leading 4.67 kills per set this season and with two regular season games remaining on the schedule,
Olson has 1,296 kills in her career, which is seventh most in Maverick history. This is the second year in a row that Olson has been named to All-NSIC First Team.
Quam, a junior from Kenyon, Minn., picked up All-NSIC Second Team honors. Quam is the leader for Minnesota State in digs this season with 405, which ranks ninth in the NSIC. With two regular season games left on the schedule,
Quam's 1,377 career digs rank third the Maverick's all-time career list. This is the second year in a row that Quam has been namedAll-NSIC Second Team.
Minnesota State wraps up the regular season this weekend with home matches Friday at 6:00 p.m., against Bemidji State, and Saturday at 2:00 p.m., against Minnesota Crookston.
