Sioux Falls, S.D. --- The Minnesota State volleyball (9-5, 2-4 NSIC) team traveled to Sioux Falls, S.D., to face the Augustana Vikings (11-4, 4-2 NSIC), and lost the match 3-0 (23-25, 21-25, 19-25).
The first set saw the Mavericks get out to an early 10-6 lead before the Vikings managed a later 5-0 run to take a 14-12 advantage. The teams then managed a back and forth affair to get the set to 22-22 before Augustana rallied off three of the last four points to win the first set.
The Vikings managed to obtain a 17-13 lead over the Mavericks in set two before a 5-1 Minnesota State run tied the set. With the set tied at 21-21, Augustana scored four straight points to take the set and a 2-0 lead in the match. The third set was all Vikings, and despite a late 7-2 run from the Mavericks, Augustana was able to win the set 25-19 to take the 3-0 match win.

Haley Shimon all led the the Mavericks on offense with nine kills while
Dana Schindler finished with 33 assists.
Next weekend the Mavericks return home for a pair of matches starting with a Friday contest against Sioux Falls with first serve scheduled for 6:00 p.m., followed by a match with Southwest Minnesota State Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
