Mankato, Minn.--- At halftime of this Saturday's women's basketball game between the Minnesota State University Mavericks and the St. Cloud State Huskies, Minnesota State Athletic's and Athletic Director Kevin Buisman will be welcoming the return of the 2009 National Championship winning Women's Basketball team back to Mankato.
Thirteen players, as well as head coach Pam Gohl and assistant coach Amy Sander, from the national championship team will return to Taylor Center Saturday night to receive recognition for their effort in bringing home the NCAA Title for the 2009 basketball season. The 2009 season was record-breaking for the Mavericks on several accounts, including setting school records for wins in a season with 32, most consecutive wins to start the season with 17, and scoring 2,763 points for an average of 81.3 points per game.
