ATLANTA, Ga. --- The Minnesota State women's basketball team has claimed WBCA Academic Top 25 Team honors from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2017-18 season is the 23nd in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls. Teams are nominated for the honor by the WBCA member head coach. A team must have a 3.000 GPA or better to be nominated.
The Mavericks boasted a team GPA of 3.611, which ranked 20th in NCAA Division II. Four other NSIC schools also received the honor including MSU Moorhead (7th/3.686), Wayne State (10th/3.677), Augustana (18th/3.634) and the University of Mary (21st/3.596).
