BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State sophomore forward
Rachel Shumski was named the
NSIC South Division Player of the Week after her performances last week in the Mavericks 98-46 win over Bethany Lutheran and 83-60 win over Concordia-St. Paul.
Shumski, a sophomore forward out of Granada, Minn., posted her first double-double of the 2018-19 season in the conference opening win over the Golden Bears as she led the team with 15 points and 11 rebounds as well as three blocks.
Additionally,
Shumski made 11-18 shots from the floor as well as all seven of her free throw attempts, all in only 41 combined minutes over the two game stretch.
Minnesota State (4-1, 1-0 NSIC) will take to the road for the first conference road trip of the season, traveling to Marshall, Minn. Friday at 5:30 p.m. to face off with the Mustangs, and then to Sioux Falls, Minn., Saturday at 4:00 p.m. to take on the Cougars.
