MANKATO, Minn. --- Minnesota State drops the series finale against #1 Wisconsin 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Verizon Center.

On the first penalty of the game, the Badgers took advantage and scored at the 12:06 mark. Abby Roque got her own rebound off a saved shot, wrapped behind the goal and flipped a back handed shot up over freshman
Abigail Levy's glove for her sixth goal of the season. The Mavericks killed off one of two penalties in the period, but were outshot by a total of 8-3.

Wisconsin struck again in the second period at the 15:45 mark to take a 2-0 lead. The Badgers were on a three-on-two break when Sophie Shirley scored her seventh goal of the season, beating Levy to the low, right hand corner. The Mavericks killed off another penalty in the period and collected five blocked shots.

The final period went scoreless as the Mavericks competed harder and better with the Badgers. In his post-game interview, head coach John Harrington specifically pointed out senior
Leila Kilduff and freshman
Anna Wilgren as two that showed up and played hard all game today.

In total, the Badgers outshot the Mavericks 29-15 and Levy made 27 saves on the day. Wisconsin's Kristen Campbell picked up the shutout and the win, while making 15 saves.

The Mavericks had 21 blocked shots on the day as junior
McKenzie Sederberg, Kilduff and Wilgren led the way with three each. Minnesota State also killed off three of four penalties throughout the game.

Minnesota State will have next week off before traveling to Moon Township, Pa., to take on Robert Morris. On Friday, Nov. 16 the puck will drop at 6:05 p.m. (ET) and on Saturday, Nov. 17 the game will start at 1:05 p.m. (ET).
