MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's basketball team defeated UW-River Falls 78-52 in an exhibition game at Taylor Center Thursday evening.
Junior guard
Juwan McCloud led the Maverick offense with 17 points and three steals, while junior guard
Carlos Anderson notched 14 points and six rebounds. Junior guard
Kevin Krieger added nine points and a team best seven rebounds.
Minnesota State built a 39-point lead with just over six minutes to go in the first half. UWRF managed to get back within 19 points a two occasions in the second half but it would get no closer as MSU finished with the 78-52 win.
Julian Jackson led the Falcons with 14 points, while Austin Heidecker added six points and eight rebounds.
Minnesota State opens its regular season scheduled on Friday, Nov. 9, as it hosts the Lindenwood Lions at Taylor Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
