The Mavericks, who owned a 14-3 shots on goal advantage in the first period, took a 1-0 lead at 2:02 when Truax, a freshman forward from Shakopee, Minn., pounced on her own rebound before putting the puck past
So Jung Shin.

Minnesota State outshot Korea 12-5 in the second period and after a shot leaked through Shin's pads to freshman forward
Mariah Gardner at 6:29, the Mavericks owned a 2-0 lead.
