MANKATO, Minn. --- Minnesota State volleyball head coach
Lori Rittenhouse-Wollmuth has announced the signing of
Ashley Bruehlman,
Lauren Lowry,
Kalee Peter and
Dana Schindler.
All signings are contingent upon admission to Minnesota State and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center. Â
"This will be a highly-rated class," said Rittenhouse-Wollmuth. "All four players have played for high-level club or successful high school teams. Â They all fill needs that we will have with our graduating class. Each player has the ability to play as a freshman. Most importantly, they all come from great families and will be great fits in our program."
A 5-10 outside hitter from Argyle, Wis., Bruehlman was a member of the Argyle High School volleyball team that has won the last three conference titles. Bruehlman appeared in 285 sets over her four year career and tallied 1,085 digs to go along with 785 kills. She was named to the All-Conference First Team the last three seasons and in her senior season was tabbed Six Rivers East Player of the Year, team captain and Most Valuable Player.Â
"We are very excited to welcome Ashley into the Maverick Family,"said Rittenhouse -Wollmuth. "From her very first visit she was a perfect fit. She brings an infectious joy and passion for the game. She absolutely loves to learn and study the game. I have no doubt she will develop into a crafty, smart and highly skilled outside hitter in the NSIC."
A 5-7 setter and defensive specialist from Castle Rock, Colo., Lowry was a member of the Castle View High School volleyball team that won the 2017 5A State Championship and went a combined 71-34 over her four year career. Lowry holds the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) record for assists in a season with 1,209. She also passed out a Castle View High School record 2,593 career assists and holds the school record for assists per set in a season (11.7), assists per set in a career (8.4), aces in a season (57) and aces in a career (142). The four year varsity letterwinner was named the Max Preps Player of the Year in 2016 and to the All-Conference First Team.Â
"I am thrilled to announce the addition of Lauren to the MSU volleyball program,"said  Rittenhouse-Wollmuth." As a state champion she knows what it takes to win. As a player she is smart, consistent and solid in her all-around game. She was an immediate fit in our program."
A 6-2 middle blocker from Carroll, Iowa, Peter was a member of the Kuemper Catholic High School volleyball team that has won the last three conference titles and went 118-18 over that span. During her career, Peter registered 652 kills and 351 blocks. She was named to the All-Conference First Team and also competes in basketball and softball.Â
"I'm excited to announce that Kalee will be part of the Maverick volleyball program," said  Rittenhouse-Wollmuth. "She is a very motivated individual with a fantastic future on and off the court. She's a competitor, tough and a quick learner. We look forward to her developing into one of the top players in the NSIC."
A 6-0 setter and right side hitter out of Carver, Minn., Schindler was a member of the Chaska High School volleyball team that won the 2014 State Championship. Schindler totaled 503 kills with 830 digs and 124 blocks solo on the defensive end of the floor over her career. Schindler was a two time All-Conference selection and earned four varsity letters. Â
"Dana is an amazing addition to the Maverick Volleyball Program," said Rittenhouse-Wollmuth. "She's a competitor that always finds a way to win. Dana has the unique ability to make those around her better. She instills confidence in her teammates, demands their best effort and puts them in positions to succeed. She will no doubt make an immediate and positive impact on the team."
