MANKATO, Minn. ---  The Minnesota State women's basketball team continues its home stand hosting Concordia St. Paul on Tuesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. 

Mavericks at a Glance: Minnesota State enters the week with a overall record of 7-6 and 3-6 NSIC record. In their most recent game, the Mavericks were edged by Wayne State, 70-55, at Taylor Center. Three players reached double digits in scoring: senior Karina Schroeder (13), senior Britney Scherber (10), and junior Logan Anderson (10). 

Impact Mavericks: Junior Claire Ziegler leads the Mavericks in both scoring (12.3 ppg) and rebounds (8.5 rbg). Freshman Rachel Shumski is totaling a team-best nine  blocks this season (.7 bpg) while sophomore Monica Muth is distributing a team-best 2.5 assists per game. 

Stat Pack: As a team this season, Minnesota State is averaging 71.1 points per game in comparison to its opponents' 69.5. Additionally, the Mavericks are totaling 42.2 rebounds per contest and 14.2 assists per game. 

The Last Meeting: Earlier this season, Minnesota State dismantled Concordia-St. Paul, 86-68, in St. Paul, Minn. The Mavericks took control of the game with a dominant second quarter in which it outscored the Golden Bears, 28-11. Junior Claire Ziegler recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Three additional Mavericks reached double digits in scoring: freshman Taylor Klug (14), senior Britney Scherber (12) and sophomore Monica Muth (10).

Recording Double-Doubles: Freshman Rachel Shumski recorded her first career double-double against Augustana with a season-high 10 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Claire Ziegler has recorded a team-leading three double-doubles this season. 

1,000 Point Watch: Senior Britney Scherber is 51 points away from joining the 1,000 career points club. She has totaled 949 points in 97 career games with the Mavericks. 

Block Party: Minnesota State totaled a season-best seven blocks against Wayne State last weekend. Freshman Rachel Shumski posted a season-high four blocks.   

Bench Production: The Minnesota State bench has contributed at least 20 points in seven of the last eight contests this season. Most recently, the bench posted 20 points against Wayne State. 

Controlling the Boards: The Mavericks are collecting 42.2 rebounds per game, which ranks first in the NSIC. Last weekend, Minnesota State totaled 38 rebounds vs. Wayne State. 

Shooting from Downtown: Minnesota State is ranked fourth in the NSIC with a .358 three point field goal percentage. Senior Britney Scherber leads the Mavericks with 25 made triples and a .403 three point percentage 

From the Field: The Mavericks are shooting .404 from the field this season. Junior Claire Ziegler has connected on 52 field goals with a .447 field goal percentage. 

Scouting Concordia-St. Paul: Concordia-St. Paul is located in St. Paul, Minn., and has an overall record of 8-7 and 4-5 NSIC record. The Golden Bears have lost four of their last five games. In their most recent game, Concordia-St. Paul downed Augustana, 83-77, in St. Paul. The Golden Bears are led by head coach Amanda Johnson. 

Since 2012, Minnesota State is 7-3 against Concordia-St. Paul with three of the wins coming at Taylor Center. The Golden Bears lead the all-time series, 16-14. 

As a team this season, Concordia St. Paul is posting 64.9 points per game in comparison to its opponents' 67.0. Additonally, the Golden Bears are pulling down 37.1 rebounds per game and dishing out 12.9 assists per contest. 

Junior Kyrah Fredenburg is ranked second in the NSIC in rebounds with 10.2 per contest. Sophomore Anna Schmitt is netting 15.9 points per game, which slots her fourth in the NSIC.
