MANKATO, Minn. ---  The Minnesota State women's basketball team will travel to NSIC south division leader Sioux Falls on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The Mavericks will conclude the weekend taking on Southwest Minnesota State. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. 

Mavericks at a Glance: Minnesota State enters the week with a 9-7 overall record and 5-7 NSIC record. The Mavericks are riding a two game winning streak after most recently downing U-Mary, 77-52, at Taylor Center. Senior Karina Schroeder recorded her first double-double of the season with a season-best 17 points and 12 rebounds. 

Impact Mavericks: Senior Britney Scherber leads the Mavericks with 11.3 points per game. Junior Claire Ziegler is grabbing a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game while sophomore Monica Muth is distributing 2.5 assists per contest. 

Stat Pack: As a team this season, Minnesota State is averaging 70.8 points per game in comparison to its opponents' 67.9. Additionally, the Mavericks are totaling 43.3 rebounds per contest and 14.3 assists per game. 

1,000 Point Chase: Senior Britney Scherber is 17 points away from joining the 1,000 career points club. She has totaled 983 points in 100 career games with the Mavericks.  

Recording Double-Doubles: Senior Karina Schroeder recorded her first double-double of the season vs. U-Mary with a season-best 17 points and 12 rebounds. Junior Claire Ziegler leads the Mavericks with three double-doubles this season. 

Bench Production: The Minnesota State bench has contributed at least 20 points in nine games this season. Most recently, the bench outscored the U-Mary bench, 30-13. 

Fresh Legs: Freshman Taylor Klug has appeared in all 16 games this season and is netting 7.9 points per game coming off the bench. Freshman Taylor Drost has also come off the bench in all 16 games this season and is averaging 6.2 points per contest. 

Nine from Behind the Arc: MSU matched a season-best nine made three pointers vs. Minot State last weekend. The Mavericks have totaled nine made triples in three games this season. 

Controlling the Boards: The Mavericks are collecting 43.3 rebounds per game which ranks first in the NSIC. In its most recent game, Minnesota State pulled down a season-high 62 rebounds vs. U-Mary.  

Scouting Sioux Falls: Sioux Falls is located in Sioux Falls, S.D., and has an overall record of 14-2 and 10-2 NSIC record. The Cougars currently lead the NSIC South division and are receiving votes in this weeks WBCA Coaches Poll. Sioux Falls enters the week on a five game win streak and most recently sneaked by Minnesota Crookston, 69-63. The Cougars are led by head coach Travis Traphagen who is in his eighth season. 

The last time these two schools met last season, Sioux Falls edged Minnesota State, 66-64, after the Cougars connected on a game-winning shot with .05 seconds remaining at Taylor Center. The overall series is deadlocked, 4-4. 

Sioux Falls is averaging 66.1 points in comparison to its opponents' 53.1. The Cougars are also totaling 39.8 rebounds and 16.3 assists per contest. 

Senior Sam Knecht leads the Cougars with 10.1 rebounds per game which ranks her second in the NSIC. She is also netting 14.2 points per game and was recently named NSIC South Division Player of the Week for the third time this season. Freshman Kaely Hummel rounds out the top performers with 9.7 points per contest 

Scouting Southwest Minnesota State: Southwest Minnesota State is located in Marshall, Minn., and has an overall record of 2-14 and 2-10 NSIC record. In their most recent game, the Mustangs fell to Bemidji State, 82-66. SMSU is lead by head coach Tom Webb who is in his first season. 

The last time these two schools met, Minnesota State picked up a 79-63 win at Taylor Center. The Mavericks have not lost to the Mustangs since 2005 and lead the all-time series, 31-14.

Southwest Minnesota State is netting 59.8 points per contest in comparison to its opponents' 74.2. Additionally, the Mustangs are posting 36.7 rebounds and 10.8 assists per game. 

Junior Lauren Hedlund leads SMSU in both points (12.2 ppg) and rebounds (9.8 rbg). Senior Taylor Silva is distributing 4.1 assists per game and adds 5.5 points per contest.
