MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's basketball team will travel to NSIC south division leader Sioux Falls on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The Mavericks will conclude the weekend taking on Southwest Minnesota State. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.

Scouting Sioux Falls: Sioux Falls is located in Sioux Falls, S.D., and has an overall record of 14-2 and 10-2 NSIC record. The Cougars currently lead the NSIC South division and are receiving votes in this weeks WBCA Coaches Poll. Sioux Falls enters the week on a five game win streak and most recently sneaked by Minnesota Crookston, 69-63. The Cougars are led by head coach Travis Traphagen who is in his eighth season.
The last time these two schools met last season, Sioux Falls edged Minnesota State, 66-64, after the Cougars connected on a game-winning shot with .05 seconds remaining at Taylor Center. The overall series is deadlocked, 4-4.

Scouting Southwest Minnesota State: Southwest Minnesota State is located in Marshall, Minn., and has an overall record of 2-14 and 2-10 NSIC record. In their most recent game, the Mustangs fell to Bemidji State, 82-66. SMSU is lead by head coach Tom Webb who is in his first season.
The last time these two schools met, Minnesota State picked up a 79-63 win at Taylor Center. The Mavericks have not lost to the Mustangs since 2005 and lead the all-time series, 31-14.
Southwest Minnesota State is netting 59.8 points per contest in comparison to its opponents' 74.2. Additionally, the Mustangs are posting 36.7 rebounds and 10.8 assists per game.
Junior Lauren Hedlund leads SMSU in both points (12.2 ppg) and rebounds (9.8 rbg). Senior Taylor Silva is distributing 4.1 assists per game and adds 5.5 points per contest.
