MANKATO, Minn. ---  The Minnesota State women's basketball team is set to take on Minot State on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The Mavericks will then close the weekend against Mary. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

Mavericks at a Glance: Minnesota State enters the week with a overall record of 7-7 and 3-7 NSIC record. In their most recent game, the Mavericks succumbed to Concordia-St. Paul, 72-61, at Taylor Center. Senior Sammie Delzotto led the Mavericks with a team-best 12 points and seven rebounds.

Impact Mavericks: Senior Britney Scherber is netting a team-high 11.1 points per game while junior Claire Ziegler is pulling down at team-best 8.5 rebounds per contest . Senior Sammie Delzotto rounds out the top performers registering 9.8 points per game.

Stat Pack: As a team this season, Minnesota State is averaging 70.4 points per game in comparison to its opponents' 69.7. Additionally, the Mavericks are totaling 42.0 rebounds per contest and 14.1 assists per game. 

1,000 Point Watch: Senior Britney Scherber is 42 points away from joining the 1,000 career points club. She has totaled 958 points in 98 career games with the Mavericks.  

Bench Production: The Minnesota State bench has contributed at least 20 points in eight of the last nine contests this season. Most recently, the bench outscored the Concordia-St. Paul bench, 23-10.

Controlling the Boards: The Mavericks are collecting 42.0 rebounds per game which ranks first in the NSIC. In its most recent game, Minnesota State totaled 40 rebounds against Concordia-St. Paul. The Mavericks collected a season-best 54 rebounds vs. Missouri Western State on Nov. 15.

Senior Britney Scherber leads the Mavericks with 25 made triples and a .385 three point percentage. Minnesota State posted a season-high .600 three point percentage at Black Hills State on Nov. 25. Sharing the Rock: Minnesota State is averaging 14.1 assists per contest this season. The Mavericks distributed a season-best 21 assists vs. Missouri Southern State on Nov. 19. 

From the Field: The Mavericks are shooting .395 from the field this season. Junior Claire Ziegler has connected on 51 field goals with a .447 field goal percentage. 

Scouting Minot State: Minot State is located in Minot, N.D., and has an overall record of 3-13 and 1-9 NSIC record. The Beavers enter the week on a three game losing skid most recently dropping a 76-66 decision against Northern State. Minot State is led by head coach Sheila Green Gerding who is in her 22nd season. 

The last time these two schools met, Minnesota State edged Minot State on the road, 61-60, after Claire Ziegler was able to connect the game-winning layup with .09 seconds remaining. The Mavericks lead the all-time series, 5-0.

As a team this season, Minot State is netting 63.3 points per game in comparison to its opponents' 74.6. Additionally, the Beavers are totaling 35.9 rebounds and 11.6 assists per contest. 

Sophomore Kari Clements leads the Beavers with a team-best 10.9 points per game. Junior Kristal Flowers is pulling down a team-high 6.6 rebounds per contest while redshirt freshman Mariah Payne is distributing a team-leading 3.0 assists per game. 

Scouting Mary: Mary is located in Bismarck, N.D., and has an overall record of 9-9 and 4-6 NSIC record. In their most recent game, the Marauders fell to MSU Moorhead, 73-53. Mary is led by head coach Rick Neumann who is in his fifth season at the helm. 

The last time these two schools met, Minnesota State fell to Mary, 79-68, in Bismarck. Since 2012, the Mavericks are 5-1 against the Marauders and lead the all time series, 9-2. 

As a team this season, Mary is totaling 62.3 points in comparison to its opponents' 65.5. Additionally, the Marauders are pulling down 36.2 rebounds and adding 12.1 assists per game this season. 

Senior Hannah Larson leads the Marauders in both scoring (13.7 ppg) and in rebounding (7.7 rbg). Redshirt freshman Gabbie Bohl rounds out the top performers netting 11.9 points per game.

Looking Ahead: Minnesota State will travel to Sioux Falls on Jan. 20. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
